Technology so the
car can be parked parallel or perpendicular without the driver turning the
steering wheel may already be familiar today, but what if the car can actually
park itself? Yes, now you do not need anymore tired of looking for parking,
Bosch and Daimler are working together to develop the automated parking system.
Not like parking
assist feature which helps rotate the wheel when they want to park, features
automatic parking or parking otonomous works by using a smartphone, where the
driver does not need to find a parking spot. All processes will be sent from
the smartphone to the vehicle control unit so that the car can park itself
without the help of the driver at all.
It is possible from
the infrastructure intelligence embedded in the parking lot and the vehicle
control unit from the latest Mercedes-Benz. To that end, Bosch and Daimler cooperated
with car2go of June 2015 and for the use of car sharing in the Mercedes-Benz used it.
"Parking will
automatically be ready for mass production before driving technology
automatically searches (otonomos)," Dr. Dick Hoseisel, Bosch board member
who was instrumental in this project.
The way the system
works-made automatic parking Bosch and Daimler is quite easy. First, the car
owner can use a smartphone to call via the car2go vehicle. Cars will go to the
owner after he was in a pick-up zone. The opposite scenario so that the owner
dropped in the drop-zone and the car automatically find and parking can also be
done.
In this
partnership, Bosch developed a special infrastructure needed car park, then the
sensor to see an empty parking lot, cameras and communication technologies. as
well as in the car, which would then be adjusted by Daimler, which makes the
user interface to customize the vehicle components. Daimler is developing in
the car2go vehicle.
Although still new, automatic parking technology has
previously been applied in the new BMW
7 Series uses the BMW
Remote Key. So with the cooperation
of Bosch and Daimler, clearly visible can increase competition between the
giant German duo, Mercedes-Benz and BMW
